Building 25 (Library), Room 411

The Highline College Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting Sept. 14 to continue the work of recruiting and selecting the college’s next president. No action will be taken at the meeting. It is the board’s second special meeting on the topic.

At their last special meeting on Aug. 31, the trustees formed two two-person subcommittees to address specific components of the search process. One subcommittee is developing a request to engage a recruitment firm, while the other is considering membership for a stakeholder advisory committee.

The board is conducting the search to replace Dr. Jack Bermingham, who announced his retirement July 27 after serving more than a decade as president.

Dr. Jeff Wagnitz, Highline’s Vice President for Academic Affairs, is serving as acting president.

Highline’s board is responsible for selecting and employing the college president. It is composed of community members from Highline’s service area of South King County: Dan Altmayer and Bob Roegner, both of Federal Way; Debrena Jackson Gandy, Des Moines; Fred Mendoza, Normandy Park; and Sili Savusa, White Center.
