Find career, educational and emotional support
If you are still exploring or undecided about what major to choose or what job or career interests you, you will find many career counseling options at Highline:
- Career Counseling: Use our counselors to help you explore the world of work and assess your interests, values, skills and strengths. Counselors will support you in the decision-making process as you align occupations and academic programs with your life goals and priorities.
The Counseling Center provides a receptive environment where you will find help reaching your academic goals through educational, career and personal counseling. While the Counseling Center offers all of these services, you will also find services through other departments and online services. See separate entries for each type of counseling.
- Do you need help coping with stress and pressure that interfere with your academic success? Through educational counseling, you will learn how to develop study skills, reduce test anxiety, manage time more effectively, establish and reach realistic goals, and adjust to college life.
- If you are looking for help planning your educational path, advisers can help you. You will find advice and educational planning information, including degree requirements for transfer and professional-technical programs, university transfer requirements and more. This department also coordinates student success workshops and opportunities to meet with representatives from four-year schools.
You can meet with a professional counselor to discuss issues and concerns that may be interfering with your ability to achieve educational and personal goals. Counselors are also available for crisis counseling and psychological emergencies. There is no charge for counseling.
