Engineering Courses
The Engineering department at Highline College offers a variety of classes. Most engineering classes fulfill the Natural Science distribution area, and some will count as transferable electives. Courses are offered in fully face-to-face and hybrid modalities. Please see an advisor for more information.
Please refer to the online quarterly course schedule for specific course and modality schedules. A complete list of classes we offer is available in the Highline Catalog.
Course List
The Ampersand (&) Difference
-
CS& (Common Course Numbering): In Washington, some courses have the same number across all community and technical colleges. These are “common courses.” If a course from a different college has the same number and subject as Highline’s, and an ampersand (&), then they’re considered the same course. They are designed to transfer seamlessly between these schools.
-
CIS (Highline-Specific): Courses without the ampersand are unique to Highline College. While they still transfer to four-year universities (often under a Direct Transfer Agreement), they don't have a pre-matched course at every other community or technical college.
