Engineering
If you like to design, innovate, and problem-solve, engineering may be the path for you. Engineers develop solutions to complex problems in technology, medicine, aerospace, alternative energy, and more. The Engineering Program at Highline helps prepare engineering students to gain key skills in science, math, and engineering to obtain Associate of Science degrees and transfer with junior status standing to most 4-year institutions.
While Highline doesn't offer a specific degree in Engineering, the Associate in Arts DTA will help you transfer to a 4-year program.
Engineering Degree Options
Bioengineering and Chemical Engineering Transfer Track 2 AS/MRP
- Program Length: Two and 1/2 years for full-time students. (Full-time is 12 credits or more)
- Costs per year: $4,740 tuition and fees
- Program Map: Associate of Science - Transfer Bioengineering and Chemical Engineering Track 2/MRP
Career
Bioengineers and chemical engineers solve problems to improve our quality of life. Bioengineers design and develop medical innovations from prosthetics to “smart” therapies for cancer. Chemical engineers work on problems such as developing alternative energies and other new materials that can be used in our everyday lives
Civil and Mechanical Engineering Transfer Track 2 AS/MRP
- Program Length: Two and 1/2 years for full-time students. (Full-time is 12 credits or more)
- Costs per year: $4,740 tuition and fees
- Program Map: Associate of Science - Transfer Civil and Mechanical Engineering Track 2/MRP
Career
Mechanical engineering is one of the broadest disciplines in engineering. Mechanical engineers design and build solutions for a wide range of industries from aeronautics, alternative energy, robotics, automation, bio-mechanical, structural applications, composite materials. Civil engineers design, build, and maintain our infrastructure. As a mechanical or civil engineer, you can expect good job prospects and a high salary.
Computer and Electrical Engineering Transfer Track 2 AS/MRP
- Program Length: Three years for full-time students. (Full-time is 12 credits or more)
- Costs per year: $4,740 tuition and fees
- Program Map: Associate of Science - Transfer Computer and Electrical Engineering Track 2/MRP
Career
Computer and electrical engineers work at the forefront of computer and practical technology and help design and improve the technology we use in our everyday lives, health care, aerospace, and so much more. Studying computer or electrical engineering is a combination of science, mathematics, and computing. As a computer or electrical engineer you can expect good job prospects and a high salary. If you love technology, electronics, and innovation the computer or electrical engineering path may be the choice for you!
