Legal Field Job and Internship Opportunities

As a paralegal, you are the backbone of the legal system. You won’t just be watching from the sidelines; you’ll be an essential partner in delivering justice. Whether you’re working in a high-powered private law firm, a public agency, or a non-profit fighting for the underrepresented, your work makes a tangible difference in people's lives.

While you’ll be doing high-level legal work, remember that paralegals cannot provide legal advice or services directly to the public unless specifically permitted by law.

Student Internships

Highline is regularly approached by area employers who are eager to have our students intern or work permanently at their law offices.

An Internship is required in the curriculum at Highline and can be one of the most valuable courses in which students enroll. It is an excellent opportunity to gain legal experience, develop contacts and network, and enhance a resume. Internships performed by Highline students often directly or indirectly lead to employment opportunities.

Prior to enrolling in an Internship, students are required to register for the Pre-Internship seminar (LEGAL 139). That class provides students with the tools necessary to identify and locate an internship that matches the student’s goals and career plan.

For more information about internships and what you can do as an employer to become part of our internship program, please contact Ché Dawson, our internship faculty advisor.
