Beginner writers and experienced poets are welcome to enter Highline’s 11th annual Poetry Contest. Open to current Highline students, the contest is a chance to win a cash prize and have your poem published.
Ten poems will win. Award amounts range from $200 (first prize) to $75 (seven honorable mention prizes).
Entry deadline is 4 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2023.
The contest is a prelude to Highline College’s celebration of National Poetry Month, April 2023. View last year’s winning poets.
Entry Guidelines
Follow these guidelines to have your poem(s) judged in Highline’s 2023 Poetry Contest:
- Be a current Highline College student.
- Write poems of up to 20 lines (not including title).
- Submit up to three poems about any subject.
- Send your poem(s) through the submission form below by 4 p.m. on March 22.
