Step into Healthcare

If you are interested in a rewarding career in the healthcare industry, the Healthcare Professions Department has career options for you!

Medical assistants are healthcare professionals who work directly with doctors and nurses in healthcare clinics. Our program is more than an industry certification – it’s a college degree. A college degree is a well-rounded education, and a pathway to promotion. Many medical assistants advance to become physician assistants, or work in healthcare management.

Our degree program is cohort-based, which means you will be with the same group of students throughout the program. Our cohorts start in the fall and spring. A part-time option is available for students who cannot attend full-time.

Our Medical Assistant program is nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Programs, CAAHEP. Our medical assistant program includes the NCCT exam preparation, and the exam itself is administered as part of the program.

Highline College graduates work at HealthPoint, CHI Franciscan, St. Anne’s, Children’s Hospital, UW Neighborhood Clinics, Valley Medical, MultiCare, SeaMar, and other prestigious healthcare clinics.

Highline College graduates in this program have close to 100% job placement after passing the NCCT Exam.
