This year’s Native Student Success Summit is set to take place on Wednesday, May 21 at Highline College between 8:30am-3pm.
The theme is Lifting the Sky and Speaking Together - yəhaẃ: ʔux̌ədəd tiʔa šəqulgʷədxʷ x̌udx̌ud čəɫ ʔəsdəč́uʔ (Lushootseed). The summit is for American Indian and Alaska Native high school and college students and is the result of a partnership between Highline Public Schools and Highline College.
The day will cultivate leadership skills among Indigenous students and provide them with opportunities to advocate for their educational rights and to contribute to the advancement of their communities.
Participating as presenters and organizers are Native educators, professionals and community leaders from the school districts of Auburn, Federal Way, Fife, Highline, Kent, Puyallup School District, Green River College, Highline College, University of Washington and the Muckleshoot Tribe.
