Finish High School
You can complete or enhance your high school education at Highline.
With careful planning, you can take college courses that apply toward both your high school graduation requirements and college degree.
Do you know about our Running Start program?
Earning an associate degree at Highline College will also satisfy your high school educational requirements. You will not need to complete certain exams and classes that are required by the Washington State Board of Education, such as the HSPE exam and U.S. history.
You can choose which associate degree works best for you: Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of Science (AS) or Associate of Applied Science (AAS).
When you apply to graduate with your associate degree, simply request your high school diploma too. Your diploma will be issued by Highline College. Learn more through Highline’s Running Start program.
If you are in high school and already know what career interests you, then Career Start may be for you. With Career Start, you would graduate from high school at or near the same time that you earn an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree at Highline. The AAS degree helps prepare you for a career in a professional-technical field. Similar to the Running Start program, the Career Start program lets you spend your junior and senior years of high school at Highline College. Learn more through Highline’s Career Start program.
The Running Start program is available fall, winter and spring quarters. You may enroll simultaneously in high school and college classes, or only in college classes. The program saves you money because college tuition is paid for through Running Start. You are only responsible for books and fees.
Learn more through Highline’s Running Start program, including the dates of upcoming Information Nights for high school students and parents.

Are you between 16 and 21 years old? Have you dropped out of high school or far behind in credits? Pathway to College may be right for you. It is a dual-credit program where you would earn a high school diploma while earning college-level credits.
Pathway to College operates as a program within the college. Students are viewed as adult college students at Highline. Classes can be offered both during the day and in the evening, giving you flexibility if you work or have children. Learn more about how Highline’s Pathway to College can help you.
Highline College, Team Child, Highline School District and Neighborhood House are partnering to offer a high school completion program (Project S.C.O.P.E.) for youth between ages of 16 and 21 years old who are involved, or at risk of involvement within the juvenile justice system.
The program allows students (from any school district) to earn their high school diploma and provides wrap-around support services and case management to overcome barriers to their educational success. The purpose of the program is to provide an opportunity for students to re-engage in their education, explore academic/career pathways, develop college/career readiness skills, and earn their high school diploma.
