Do you need money to attend college? The Highline College Foundation is now offering thousands of dollars in scholarships for the 2016–17 academic year.
Whether you are an incoming student or one just about to graduate, there may be the perfect scholarship for you. Awards range from $500 to $2,500.
Scholarships awards are not just based on need or merit. Some scholarships target single parents while others look for students who have overcome obstacles. Still others are based on the program or degree a student is pursuing, such as engineering, music and nursing.
When applying, you will want to have information and documents handy before beginning: unofficial transcripts, student identification number, social security number, and financial aid information (for need-based scholarships). You should also be prepared to write an essay, which will vary in length depending upon the scholarship.
Information and qualifications for all scholarships are available on the application, which you can access on the scholarship webpage. Scholarship recipients will be notified this summer, either by email or by logging in to the scholarship website.
