Find Faculty, Staff and Student Advising and Registration Support

Delta DogGuest post by Chantal Carrancho, Director of Advising, Transfer and Career Services

Thank you so much for all that you do and for your patience as we gear up for our ctcLink Go-Live on February 8. As a Highline employee, you all are on the front lines of helping our students. We want to make sure that you have the support you need to help students prepare for spring registration and for you to become confident and familiar with the new system.

The information below outlines some of the major areas of advising that will be affected by ctcLink. We highly encourage you to attend the training sessions that have been scheduled.

What is ctcLink?

ctcLink is a new student portal that will change the way students register for classes, pay for classes, manage financial aid and access student records, among other benefits. ctcLink will also allow students to have a more common experience across the community and technical college system.

Which advising processes are changing?

  • New student/employee ID (ctcLink ID)
  • Looking up classes
  • Registering for classes
  • Managing advisees/academic plans
  • Review degree progress and more

How can you prepare for the transition?

  • Share “Get ctcLinked!” Student Support Sessions: Students will activate their new ctcLink account and view demonstrations on how to look up classes, register for classes and start planning for academic success.
  • Consider giving 15 minutes of class time for students to attend trainings on 2/18 or 2/19: If you are teaching on 2/18 or 2/19, consider slating 15 minutes at the end of class for students to attend Get ctcLinked! Registration Demos.
  • Attend “Get ctcLinked!” Faculty/Staff Trainings: Faculty and staff will activate their new ctcLink account and view demonstrations on how to look up classes, register for classes and start planning for academic success.

Get ctcLinked! Faculty/Staff Trainings

Training resources, such as how-to documents and videos, will begin to be available the week of February 8. See the Zoom Help section for dates and times of Get ctcLinked! sessions.
