Lights, Camera, Action: Prepare for 2nd Annual Film Festival

  • Highline College Film Festival 2018

Attend Informational Meeting

Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017
2–3 p.m.
Highline’s main campus, Building 29, Room 104

Are you an aspiring filmmaker? Are you a current Highline student?

Learn how you can submit a short film for the 2018 Highline Film Festival at an informational meeting Nov. 8.

The meeting is not mandatory, but strongly encouraged. During the meeting, you will learn how films will be judged, when and how to submit your film, and more.

Winners will be eligible for a cash prize and have their films screened at the festival, scheduled for Feb. 14, 2018.

Filmmakers will be challenged to create a piece that runs no less than 2 minutes, 30 seconds, and no more than 8 minutes using the theme transformation. Learn more on the Highline Film Festival blog.

This is the second year of the festival in its current format, sponsored by Highline’s Humanities department. The college has held other film festivals over the years. Highline students had their first opportunity to create films as part of the college’s second annual Film Series during the 1965–66 academic year.

The winner of the 2017 Highline Film Festival, held in January, was Kelsey Par for “The Home Within.”
