ThunderWeek

Each quarter, the Center for Leadership & Service and the Center for Cultural & Inclusive Excellence welcome all Highline students to campus with a week of programs called ThunderWeek.

During ThunderWeek, connect with other students, learn about ways you can get involved on campus, and celebrate being a Highline student.

All events during ThunderWeek are free and available to all students!

Monday, April 1st

Therapy Dogs

The beginning of a new quarter can be stressful, so come destress by petting some Therapy Dogs!

Canvas Painting

The Summer Olympics are happening this Summer and we want you to have the chance to participate in your own version of the Olympics! This is a great opportunity to participate in team activities!

Thunderbird Thursday: Reflection Reflex

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the most reflective leader of them all? Come and learn more about the practice of reflection! In this workshop as part of the CONNECT Program, Maia, Soul Purpose Coach, will be facilitating a conversation on why reflection is a prerequisite to your success and happiness, how reflection is an act of leadership, and how we fully integrate ourselves in these reflections. Participants should expect to listen and engage in large group and breakout rooms.

Thunderbird Thursday: Leading From Who You Are

We believe you bring all aspects of your identity into your leadership. In this workshop as part of the CONNECT Program, we will be exploring and celebrating how your social identities can make an impact on who you are as a leader and how you lead.

Scavenger Hunt — All week!

To help you get to know campus, we have organized the Thunder Hunt, a scavenger hunt going on throughout ThunderWeek. Follow the clues to find five spots on campus, take a photo at each spot, submit your photos, then pick up a prize at the Center (3rd floor of Building 8). The clues are available on the submission form.

Volunteering with Community Pantry

The Service and Mentorship Engagement consultants are leading a group of volunteers at Highline’s Community Pantry. All volunteer shifts are now full, but we encourage you to swing by the Community Pantry to pick up a grocery box! Walk-ups are welcome, and everyone should please wear a mask.
