Different fisheries, e.g. Tuna, will be examined in detail to inform the general public of the impact the fishing industry has on the resources. An overview of what certification for sustainability means for the fishing industry, the role of MRAG Americas, and the general process to achieve certification will be discussed. Finally, some of the challenges associated with certifying a fishery as sustainable, including monitoring, management and enforcement, will be reviewed.
