Worker Retraining

Highline Community College works with the Employment Security Department to provide job training for people who are unemployed or face imminent layoff.  Students may qualify for assistance with tuition, fees and books, and continue to receive unemployment benefits while attending one of Highline's many occupational programs.


What is Worker Retraining Assistance?

  • A "start-up" funding source to help for the 1st quarter.  Additional funds possible.
  • Job search and readiness assistance while in school and in preparation for graduation.

What does Worker Retraining ask of you?

  • Attend an orientation (by appt., call to schedule) and complete an application.  PLEASE bring an unemployment check stub, Washington Driver's License AND Test Scores or an Unoffical Transcript.
  • Participate in a Career Evaluation session.
  • Academic Testing
  • Apply for Financial Aid.
