Keynote Speakers

DEBRENA JACKSON GANDY is a two-time national best-selling author, international transformational speaker, business consultant, trainer, national seminar leader, performance coach, and strategic marketing consultant, and personal development expert.
She has been one to challenge the status quo, rock the boat, push the envelope, ask 'Why Not?, and pose the hard questions. She is a paradigm-shifter, a ground-breaker, a belief-shaker, a thought-provoker, an outside-of-the-box thinker, a relationships-builder, an innovator, and a visionary.
Ms. Gandy has been featured in magazines and publications such as Oprah's O, Essence, Black Enterprise, Empowering Women, Today's Black Woman, Emerge, Heart & Soul, Empowering Women, Woman's Day, Family Digest, the Seattle Times, the Olympian, the New York Daily News, and the Atlanta Metro.
In addition to being a popular guest on over 35 radio shows, she also has been featured on TV on CNN, CNN Live, Good Day New York, Good Morning Texas, the Wisdom Channel and a host of Regional News programs.
She is also wife to a fabulous husband and mother to 3 amazing daughters....She believes that a woman CAN have it all.
We welcomed as our Master of Ceremonies and keynote speaker, Julia A. Boyd, author and psychotherapist working in clinical practice in Seattle. Ms. Boyd is well known for her national best-seller, In the Company of My Sisters: Black Women and Self Esteem (Dutton, 1993), as well as for the successful publication of Girlfriend to Girlfriend: Everyday Wisdom and Affirmations from the Sister Circle (Dutton, 1995), and Embracing the Fire: Sisters Talk About Sex and Relationships (Dutton, 1997). She has also published poetry and short fiction in several small press anthologies and in Essence Magazine. She is a contributor to both editions of The Black Women’s Health Book (Seal Press, 1990, reissued 1994).
