Steps to Apply for VA Benefits
If you have NEVER received VA Educational benefits but want to
begin now:
- Apply on line. Complete the
VONAPP (Veterans
Online Application).
- Make an appointment to see the Highline Veterans Coordinator. Please bring
with you a certified copy (or the original) of the member 4 portion
of your DD-214 (if applicable) and copies of all
applicable military transcripts. Also, please bring
one of the following documents:
- A print out of your online application (form 22-1990 or 22-5490 for dependants)
or
- Certificate of Eligibility (22-1999a) or
- Notice of Basic Eligibility (DD form 2384)
- Request that
official transcripts
be sent to Highline for evaluation from all college/vocational
schools previously attended.
Please Note:
Students are required to submit official transcripts from other
schools within two quarters of attendance at Highline.
- Once you have registered for classes, an
Enrollment
Certification Request Form must be submitted to
the Veterans Coordinator before your enrollment will be certified to VA.
What program?
Nearly all Highline programs are VA approved.
Only those classes that apply towards your degree can be used for your VA benefits. Please obtain a copy of the curriculum guide for the program you choose and be sure to work very closely with your curriculum advisor.
