COMPASS ESL
The COMPASS ESL (English Second Language Test)
is used for elementary or intermediate ESL students.
COMPASS ESL Testing hours.
The COMPASS ESL test is given Monday through
Friday in the Testing Center. The center is located on the Highline
Campus, building 3, Room 101. The COMPASS ESL Test is not given on
school holidays. The COMPASS ESL test is computer-adaptive and not
timed. The fee is included in the
application fee. The retest
fee is $7.35. Please bring your receipt and picture ID. Call
206-878-3710, Ext. 3251 for more information. No appointment is
needed.
The COMPASS ESL test is composed of three tests
- Grammar/Usage, Reading and Listening. These three tests combine to
give a profile of a students language abilities. The test spans the
levels of English proficiency ranging from elementary to near
college level.
