"Go the Distance" Scholarship (The Distance
Education Resource)
The
$30,000 Go The Distance Scholarship Contest is the first merit-based
scholarship exclusively for distance degree students. Thirty (30)
deserving students will each receive $1,000 to pay for school. For

Highline Academic Achievement Scholarship
(2008)
Fifteen applicants will receive a 15-credit
tuition waiver for Winter Quarter 2008.
Who may apply:

Students who will be attending full-time at
Highline Community College in the Spring of 2007, and who have a
minimum high school or college G.P.A. of 3.5.

Previous recipients may apply. (No student
may receive more than two overall, however.) Greater
consideration will be given to new applicants.

Running Start students, non-resident
students, and international students are not
eligible.

Highline Mathematics Scholarship
This scholarship
is intended for students who plan to take at least two courses at or
beyond calculus during the year the scholarship is awarded. Students
must demonstrate strong academic competency in mathematics with an
overall grade point average of at least 3.5. The scholarship is
awarded at approximately $750 per academic year.

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarship
The Jack Kent Cooke
Foundation will award approximately 50 scholarships to outstanding
students (GPA 3.5 or better) to begin studies in fall 2007. Each
award will cover a portion of educational expenses, including
tuition, living expenses, required fees, and books for the final two
to three years of the baccalaureate degree. Every scholarship
varies, depending on the cost of attendance and other scholarships
or grants received. The maximum award available per student is
$30,000 per year. Scholars may use the award to attend any
accredited college or university in the US or abroad in pursuit of a
baccalaureate degree. The Foundation renews awards annually,
provided the Jack Kent Cooke Scholar has maintained high academic
performance, exhibited good conduct, made significant progress
toward a degree, and complied with the Foundation’s administrative
requirements and requests.

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation
You must submit all
required documents listed in the application checklist at the very
end of the application by 3:00PM on Monday, January 8th to Barbara
Clinton, Building 18. Campus winners will be announced by
January 11th so that improvements to the application packets can be
made prior to submission before February 1, 2007.
Kid's Chance of Washington
Kids’ Chance of Washington is a need-based
scholarship program for the dependent children and spouses of
workers killed or seriously disabled in a workplace accident in
Washington. It was founded in 2001 as one of 20 states helping kids
to achieve their desired future.

Lake Oswego Crafts & Arts League Women's
Scholarship
Open to all women art students who will be enrolled full time in
a college art program in the fall.
The Lake Oswego Arts and Crafts League (LOCAL 14) announces its
annual Scholarship Awards for college women majoring in art. The
following categories will considered: painting, drawing,
printmaking, pottery, photography, sculpture, metalworking, jewelry,
leather, basketry, woodworking, blown and fused glass, wearable art,
textiles, and other we executed crafts and arts.

MENSA Foundation Scholarship Essay
Competition
Each year the MENSA Foundation awards more
than $60,000 in scholarships nationally.
Eligibility: US Citizen or legal resident (MENSA
membership is NOT a requirement) intending to enroll in an
accredited US institution for the 2007-2008 academic year.

National Federation for the Blind
The National Federation of the Blind has the largest scholarship
program for legally blind post-secondary students in the country.
The Federation grants thirty scholarships annually to legally blind
persons in higher education from college freshmen to doctoral
candidates. The scholarships range in value from $3,000 to $12,000.
Federation scholarship winners also win a trip to the organization's
annual convention and the opportunity to develop mentoring
relationships with the nation's most dynamic leaders of the blind
community.

National Society of the Daughters of the
American Revolution
Numerous scholarships available, each with
different criteria, award amounts and deadlines. Students must be
majoring in History, Political Science, Government, Economics,
Historic Preservation, Medicine, Nursing and Occupational Therapy,
Art and Music Therapy, or Physical Therapy.
The John W. Perry Fund - DRCNET Foundation
The DRCNet
Foundation, in association with Students for Sensible Drug Policy,
is pleased to present the John W. Perry Fund, providing scholarships
to students losing federal financial aid because of drug
convictions. The Fund has monies for fall 2003 as well as future
semesters, so eligible students are urged to apply as soon as
possible.
