How to Apply
Step 1
-
Complete the Free Application for Federal
Student Aid (FAFSA) either online at
www.fafsa.ed.gov or
complete a paper application and mail it in the envelope
provided. List Highline Community College, 2400 S.
240th St., Des Moines, WA in Step 5. Our Title IV Code is
003781.

Complete an
Admissions Application either in person or online.
Step 2

In about 3 - 5 days you will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) via email from the Central Processor
(or 2 - 4 weeks by mail). It will confirm that you have listed Highline Community College
and that your information was released to us. We will
receive your application data electronically.

Check your
Financial Aid Status online for additional documents
required by Highline's Financial Aid Office. If your FAFSA has been selected for
verification or you are required to submit additional documents,access the financial aid
online forms or contact our office
at (206) 878-3710, ext. 3358.

All students are required to complete and
submit a Financial Aid Data
Sheet to Highline's Financial Aid Office.

Make sure that the Federal Processor
receives your complete and accurate application, and that all other
requested documentation is submitted to our office by the
Awarding Cycle Dates. NOTE: To
meet these deadlines, a valid FAFSA transaction and all required
documents must be submitted to Highline's Financial Aid Office
by the date listed. If all required items are not submitted by
the deadline, you will be responsible for payment of tuition and
fees (no exceptions).

Step 3

If you complete your file by our awarding cycle date, submit all required paperwork to the Financial Aid
Office, and are eligible for financial aid, you will receive
an award notification in the mail as soon as your award is
processed. This process can take approximately 3 months
from the time you complete the FAFSA.

If you are awarded Work-Study, you must
attend a workshop.
