Head Coach - Jason Prenovost
(206) 878-3710, ext. 3188
is the longest tenured coach in the NWAACC Men’s Soccer League.
Entering his 16th year at the helm, Prenovost's overall career
mark is 210-61-50, a 77% winning percentage.
Coach Prenovost began his career at Highline
Community College as a player in 1988. After playing two years
at Highline, he was among the first recruiting class to receive
a scholarship to attend and play for Hawaii Pacific University.
At HPU, Prenovost was a two year starter finishing out his
collegiate career in 1992 and graduating with Bachelor Degrees
in Marketing and International Business the spring of 1993.
August of 1994, at the age of 24, Prenovost took
over the Highline soccer program, as an Interim Head Coach. The
program was on hard times, with no facilities, four players and
a previous season record of 2-8-2 his first order of business
was to find enough players to field a team. After a slow start
to the season, the team finished out by defeating the first
place teams in the South, Portland CC, and the North, Edmonds
CC, to end the year. That first season was capped by his peers
voting him the 1994 Northern Divisional Coach of the Year, an
honor that he has received five additional times, 1998, 2000,
2001, 2002, 2003. In 2004 Prenovost was voted NWAACC Coach of
the year after guiding Highline to its first Northwest Athletic
Association of Community Colleges, NWAACC, Soccer Title.
When Jason is not coaching, he is employed as
the Director of Marketing at Highline. He is married to his wife
of 13 years Suzanne and has three sons Zachery, Conner and Nate.
Commitment:
The program is committed to developing student athletes. Since
Prenovost’s arrival, Highline has transferred approximately 50
young men onto four year schools. Currently there are 10
Highline Alum active including Rafael Cox, University of
Washington, Edward Walugembe, Seattle University and Tucker
Maxwell, Daniel Palermo and Ruben Orozco, St Martins.
Dedication and hard work has built a program that wins on the
field and in the classroom. As part of an athletic program that
puts the student first, our players have access to a full-time
academic advisor, tutoring center, and an on-campus coaching
staff. Highline's facilities include a state of the art weight
room, all-weather track, and one of the premier grass surfaced
soccer fields in the state of Washington. Highline soccer is
about picturing yourself at the top and working hard to remain
there.
