Josh Baker joined the Highline Community College Men’s Basketball coaching staff in summer, 2005. He spent the previous 5 years working in Strength and Conditioning at Brigham Young University under Jay Omer, in Provo, Utah. The love of basketball and being able to be on the court lured him away from training college, Olympic and professional athletes. “When I got into strength and conditioning the whole purpose was to make me a better basketball coach. The worst part was not being on the court coaching every day!"
Josh has a history of bringing
out the best in his players. He has coached with Renton Select
basketball, Hazen High School (Renton, WA), Orem High School (Orem, UT)
and summer camps. He summarizes his philosophy as “I use every possible
tool to develop each individual, as a complete student, athlete, and
person. In the quest for success there is no substitute for desire,
hard work and a good attitude.”
“Coach Baker’s strength and
conditioning expertise and knowledge of the game has been of tremendous
value to our student-athletes. He has a genuine desire to not only push
them to be their best athletically but to be a mentor as they continue
the path to manhood.” –Coach Dawson |
