The New Cross Country and Distance
Highline CC is proud to announce the hiring of Josh Baker as its new Women’s and Men’s Cross Country and Distance Track Coach. Josh has most recently been working at Highline as the Director of the new, Personnel Fitness Trainer program and has been an assistant coach for the Highline men’s basketball team. With expertise in athlete training, endurance, and strength training, he was a natural fit, once he expressed interest in the job. Josh is also a very accomplished recruiter and will make an immediate impact on the rebuilding of the Cross Country and Track Program. Josh is a graduate of Brigham Young University
where he earned his Undergraduate degree in History. He then continued
at BYU where he earned his Masters in Physical Education. He also has Highline Assistant Athletic Director, Amber Rowe Mosley commented, “Josh was clearly the strongest candidate.” His commitment to athletics, training of athletes, and philosophy of developing a family within the Cross Country and Track program were both very exciting to hear, and spoke highly of not only Josh’s passion, but of his desire to develop, build and take these programs to new heights.” She went on to say, “We are very lucky to have such a quality coach join the T-Bird Family.” Athletic Director, John Dunn was not available for comment, but conveyed to Amber that this is, for use of a better term, a,” Coup!” Josh is married to former Miss Toni Rogers. They have two daughters, Becca and Jocelyn and reside in Renton Washington.
