Wassan got a job at a local hospital right after completing his Highline degree. Now he’s furthering his education in health care with confidence.
Wassan first came to Highline to study polysomnography technology and earned his Associate of Applied Science degree in 2008. He began working as a polysomonography technician at Auburn Regional Hospital and completed an Associate of Arts in Pre-Nursing at Highline in June 2010.
“Highline has turned my life around,” Wassan said. “I was not only educated by the best group of faculty members I ever came across but also in every class experience, instructors took the time to teach me how to think outside the box.”
He served as co-president of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), HCC chapter, and graduated as a Highline Honor Scholar in June 2010. He credits the leader of the Honors Scholar program, Barbara Clinton, with his academic and personal success. “She opened lots of doors for me and she helped me reach my potential,” Singh said.
He will be attending America’s No. 1 nursing school at the University of Washington starting fall 2010. After earning his Bachelor of Science in Nursing, he plans on pursuing a Doctor of Nurse Practice degree at the University Washington to become a nurse practitioner.
