Choklate was the voice for students as Highline Community College’s student government president. Now she’s professional singer sharing her voice with the world.
She has performed in concerts all over the globe including Sweden, France, Italy and the United Kingdom and her second album,
"To Whom It May Concern," hit stores in mid-May 2009.
She has received recognition for her work, including a Honey Soul “Best of 2006” Award and AGAPE Indie Artist Award for
"Female R&B/Soul Artist of the Year" in 2007.
She attributes a lot of her success to her time at Highline. "I
learned that success is not a lucky surprise but instead a reward as
a result of hard work, relentless dedication and drive," Choklate said.
In addition to her work as student government president, Choklate was the president of the Black Student Union and earned her degree in graphic design.
"I left Highline equipped with so many tools and the knowledge
needed to play life’s game," Choklate said. "I feel like I'm on my
way to something good and Highline definitely had something to do
with that."
