HCC Finalist for MetLife Foundation Community College Excellence Award

Highline was chosen as a finalist for the MetLife Foundation 2006 Community College Excellence Award.  Two representatives from Jobs for the Future (managers of the award) will be here January 17 and 18 to meet with Highline and our partners.  The award recognizes the crucial role that community colleges play in helping underserved youth and adults meet their educational and career goals. The award celebrates colleges that demonstrate a singular, institution-wide commitment to low-income students, first-generation college-goers and working adults.

Diamond Bash Auction

Every winter, the Highline Softball team coordinates an auction to sponsor the team's travel and equipment costs. The auction has grown each year since it's inception in 2000. During dinner, the live portion begins and roughly 40 items are auctioned off by a professional auctioneer. The auction is held in the Highline Student Union building which provides an outstanding atmosphere and space for the event.

Enjoy good food, cocktails, and the excitement of out-bidding your neighbor on that trip to Hawaii!

Details of this year’s event:

Date:  Friday, February 24, 2006
Time:   5:00 pm:  Registration begins during which cocktails are served.
             6:15 pm:  Silent auction
7:00 pm: Sit-down dinner is served and the Live Auction begins!
Place:  Highline Student Union (Building 8)
Tickets:  $15.00  each; available by contacting the Foundation at 206-878-3710 x3774
