Highline Brings Home Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards
Highline Community College's printing and communications efforts have been recognized for excellence regionally and internationally. The Printing program won an international award for a piece students produced under the direction of staff members. The 96-page, full-color book "Crosscurrents" earned a Silver award in the 30th International Gallery of Superb Printing competition. More than 2,700 entries were submitted, including those by commercial print shops. The competition is produced by the International Association of Printing House Craftsmen, a trade association with thousands of members around the world. Highline's Printing program not only trains students for jobs in the industry, but also supplies the campus and area nonprofits with printing services. The award-winning book was produced for the Washington Community and Technical College Humanities Association. Highline's Office of Communications and Marketing brought home two Medallion awards from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) regional conference in October. The Puget Sound Early College brochure and postcard set earned a Gold Medallion award for "Best Brochure Flyer of Postcard (one or two colors)." The 2004 Spring Festival poster received a Bronze Medallion award in the "Best Poster" category. Highline competed with other colleges from the District 7 region, which includes Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and the Yukon Territory. |

Every two years members of the Academic Community are recognized for educational excellence. This is such a great honor, because these teachers have been chosen by their community as the most influential educators within our school. Below are members of Highline's staff that are honored in this year's edition of Who's Who Among America's Teachers - 2004. Barbara Clinton |
