HCC Network Closets Featured in Training Video

Light Brigade Inc., a fiber optic training and products company located in Kent, was on campus in August to film one of our network closets for training sessions.  This is the second time for this type of honor.  They filmed here a number of years ago and have been using it in their training sessions - our staff was in training recently and actually saw our closet represented.  Our Network Services staff has some of the premier network closets in the area and it is nice to be recognized for this by a leader in the fiber optic industry.

Staff Training for Technical and Community Colleges Exemplary Staff Award

Congratulations! Gary McCune is the recipient of the Staff Training for Technical and Community Colleges Exemplary Staff Award for Region E.

STTACC Exemplary Staff Awards have been established to provide annual recognition of community and technical college staff.  These distinguished awards serve as an accolade to recognize one of the most critical attributes to a successful institution.  The Award is bestowed on those who have consistently demonstrated commitment and excellence in performance and dedication to the mission and goals of their institution, as well as dedication to the professional development of the classified staff on their campus.

Region E includes Bates Technical College, Clover Park Technical College, Green River Community College, Highline Community College, Olympic College, Pierce College, and Tacoma Community College.  Gary McCune’s exemplary contributions qualified him for the honor of being selected from such a large and qualified populous for this statewide recognition.

Highline Community College is also honored in that this is the third consecutive year a Classified Staff Member has been elected as the recipient of this recognition award.

Award recipients are honored at the Annual STTACC Conference in August.

Congratulations Gary McCune!  And thank you!

Kudos to Highline

Dr. Bell recently received an anonymous letter from a satisfied student:

Dear Dr. Bell:

I am a relatively new student at Highline.  For objective purposes, I choose to remain anonymous.

I have been very impressed with the staff at Highline.  Without exception, they were very friendly and helpful.  This is noteworthy because registration can be a time of frustration and confusion.

I have often observed that the quality and basic characteristics of a workplace are evident in the outlook and behavior of the employees.  If this is true, and I believe that it is, Highline is a very good place to work.

Don't change a thing; whatever you are doing seems to be the right thing.
