Highline
Community College/Central Washington University The Highline Community College/Central Washington University Higher Education Center is a successful collaboration designed to expand higher education opportunities to the residents of South King County. Through this partnership, the Higher Ed Center will offer time-and place-bound students the opportunity to complete their education at the associate, bachelor's or master's degree levels in a variety of fields. Construction of the Higher Ed Center is necessitated by the fact that Highline needs to replace deteriorating science labs while adding additional space to meet student enrollment demands. CWU needs to relocate its SeaTac Center from a former high school to an upgraded facility, protected from airport noise. The shared facility, conducive to teaching and learning, will also accommodate CWU's increasing enrollment demands. It is designed to serve 1,125 students-675 Highline students and 450 CWU students. Construction of the Higher Education Center is dependent upon funding in the 2003-2005 capital budget request. The 83,900-square-foot Higher Education Center will be located on the south side of Highline's campus. |

Last week letters arrived in your
mailboxes urging you to give to the HCC Foundation Annual
Campaign. It's easy to give, through the payroll deduction program. If each member of our 400 plus staff and faculty gave a contribution of $10 per pay period, that would calculate to over $100,000 for a year!! Just think of how many students we could help. If you have questions, please call me or stop by the Foundation office. Thank you for your consideration of this request and for your generosity of the past. |
