Highline Community College students win academic scholarships

 

DES MOINES, Wash.Twelve Highline Community College students received scholarships for fall quarter recognizing their outstanding academic achievements.

 

Academic Achievement Scholarships cover tuition costs for one quarter and honor students who have a 3.5 GPA or better.

 

The scholarship winners, by city, are:

Academic Achievement Scholarships are awarded fall, winter and spring quarters and administered by Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two-year colleges.

 

To apply for the scholarships, students must be Washington state residents and submit an essay, letters of recommendation and school transcripts.

 

Highline Community College was founded in 1961 as the first community college in King County. With approximately 10,000 students and more than 350,000 alumni, it is one of the state’s largest institutions of higher education. The college offers a wide range of academic transfer and professional-technical education programs, with day, evening, online and weekend classes.
