Price:               $10 for adults, $5 for children; Tickets are available beginning March 30 at HCC’s Student Programs (Highline Student Union, third level) and International Student Programs (HCC Library, fifth floor) offices

Description:      Highline Community College’s GlobalFest 2009 celebrates cultures from around the world with music and dance performances, cuisine and cultural booths.

                        The seventh annual event gives Highline’s international students a chance to share their culture with the campus and local community.

                              Attendees can visit the cultural booths, representing more than 15 countries, and try global cuisine from 5-7:15 p.m.

                              Performances include Yamato Taiko drumming featuring HCC’s Taiko Club; traditional Vietnamese dancing featuring HCC’s Vietnamese Student Association; traditional Japanese, Brazilian, Turkish and Cambodian dancing; and the dances and songs of China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Highline Community College was founded in 1961 as the first community college in King County.
