How do I have photocopies made?

Faculty who wish to copy their own material must schedule time with the building secretary to get instructions on using the copy machine. The machines are excellent, but jam if not used properly. Be sure to inform the building secretary if a machine continues to malfunction. Each person needs to leave the machine ready for others.

If you want copying done for you, leave the material in the copy folder with the building secretary, with your name, number of copies to be made, and explanation if you want pages stapled, collated, etc., and the date and time you need it completed. Ask the appropriate secretary where finished work will be stored. Allow 24 hours for the work to be completed.

Always allow time at the copy machine. It breaks down and periodically has to be repaired, and others in the building may suddenly need copies. The busier you are the more likely there will be a line-up.

If you need typing/word-processing services, or test bank materials, have the request to the building secretary no later than 4 working days before you need the completed work.

What if I have a big copying job?

Your secretary may suggest using our campus print shop for large, extensive printing jobs. Using the print shop may be more cost efficient, but it also may mean that you will need to plan ahead. If you suspect that your copy job will exceed the capacity of your building’s photocopy machine, you may want to use the print shop. There is a Printing Order Form which needs a budget number, and signature from your division chair and a dean. A copy of the form may be found in the appendix. Also, see Textbooks.
